The questions you ask, the cards you draw, and basic access logs needed to keep the service reliable (such as IP address and browser type). You can use Arcana without an account. If you create one, we keep your email address or phone number, and the name and birthday you choose to give. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash that can't be turned back into it.
Your question and cards are used only to generate the current reading. Readings are generated by a third-party AI model provider, and we send it only what is needed to produce the reading. If you sign in with a mainland China phone number (offered on the Simplified Chinese site), the number goes to Alibaba Cloud's phone number verification service, which texts you a code, or has your mobile carrier confirm the number for one-tap sign-in. Each time a code is sent, we record the number and the IP address that asked for it, to stop abuse, and delete that record after a day.
Without an account, your readings stay in your own browser, and clearing your browser data deletes them. Signed in, your name, birthday, card of the day, reading settings and chats are stored with your account, so you can see them on any device. Staying signed in uses one cookie in your browser.
You can delete any reading at any time from My notes, or delete all your chats in Settings. For privacy questions, contact us using the details at the bottom of the page.
